The Democrats New Strategy for the 2022 midterms, Trump Lite

Will Biden reinstate more of Trump's policies?

There is no argument that since Biden took office he and his administration have been plummeting in the polls.  Every one of Trump policies that he reversed has proven to be an unmitigated failure.  The promise to build back better that the democrats promoted and was certain to be embraced by all, hasn’t happened.  Our country had just gone through four years of prosperity, the likes that had not been achieved in a long time if ever.

We achieved energy independence, had the lowest unemployment in decades, our enemies respected us, because Trump no longer allowed them to take advantage of the United States.  Of course all of these positives came at cost. According to those on the left, President Trump hurt the feelings of many with his tweets.  He was abrasive, spoke his mind, and made sure that everyone knew where he stood.

In order to correct, or should I say reverse the course our nation was heading, the only viable thing for Joe Biden to do once he got into office was to end all of his policies.  This administration truly believed that whatever decisions they made, like ending the remain in Mexico policy, allowing open borders, and stopping the Keystone pipeline would find favor with Americans.  The polls would prove them correct and allow them to introduce even more socialistic controlling policies into our culture.

Then something strange happened.  Americans gradually began to voice their discontent with Biden and his administration.  Their promise to defeat covid and allow us to return to our pre-pandemic lives proved to be a myth, a broken campaign promise.  The vaccine wouldn’t prevent the virus from spreading.  Masks wearing, social distancing, and mandating the vaccine wasn’t going to restore our lives to our pre covid ways.  Having millions of illegals flooding across our southern border was bad enough, but this administration considering to compensate these lawbreakers wasn’t going over well.  The failed withdrawal in Afghanistan displayed the total ineptness of this administration.  Then the promise of prosperity for the middle class by making the wealthy pay their fair share became a pipe dream.  They said the new infrastructure bill wouldn’t raise anyone's taxes or cost the US taxpayer a cent.  They lied.

Things began to slowly fall apart when people noticed that their dollar wasn’t buying as much as before.  Groceries became more expensive, and the empty store shelves weren’t helping matters.  The cost of a gallon of gas began to increase.  What was the Biden administration’s response to all of this?  That we the American people were responsible for inflation.  We had too much money to spend, and we were responsible for creating the shortages.  Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm laughed off the increase in gas prices, blaming it on OPEC and saying she didn’t have a magic wand that would change the situation.  Secretary of Transportation, Pete “Butthurt” Buttigieg stated everyone could simply avoid rising gas prices if they simply purchased an electric vehicle.  As if everyone has an extra $55K laying around.  Memo to Pete, rising gas prices aren’t just a transportation issue.  There are still millions of Americans who depend on fuel oil and natural gas to heat their homes.  They can’t simply go solar or build a wind turbine in their backyard.

All this contributed to the steadily declining poll numbers we are now seeing of Biden and his administration.  Even the democrats voter manipulation wouldn’t possibly be able to save them from a crushing defeat next November.  They had to act fast and so they decided to once again reverse course and reimplement the first of what I believe will be several Trump policies.  Their big lie about our southern border being secured has been exposed.  Having Granholm, Mayorkas, and Buttigieg say that there is nothing they can do is not a good look for this administration.  They were appointed to these positions to provide solutions to these problems.  Throwing up your hands and giving up is not an acceptable answer.  

Reinstating Trump’s remain in Mexico policy is a bitter pill for them to swallow, so expect them to spin it as being a friendlier, more humane version, and nothing at all like Trump’s.  Expect other Trump policies that were working before Biden wielded his poison pen to be reinstated.  Of course this will all be done to hopefully improve the democrats record low poll numbers and prevent a republican landslide in 2022.  That’s why the democratic strategy for the midterms next November will be Trump lite.
